Project Title: SmartProduce – Smart System for Producers

Project code: 17480_SmartProduce | Aviso MPr-2023-7

Main goal:

The project aims to design and develop a platform-based IT solution that will integrate locally collected sensory data and global data associated with the sector of interest. In combination with the design and development of artificial intelligence algorithms, it will offer the agricultural sector a decision support tool, improving its daily management. This tool will make it possible to optimize natural resources such as fertilizers, pesticides, water and energy consumption, promoting the environmental sustainability of agricultural practices and their intelligent production. In addition, the tool developed will be modular, allowing producers to gradually invest in the tools they find useful.

Objectives

  • Development and improvement of models and algorithms for agricultural management.
  • Optimization and construction of algorithms for harvest forecasting.
  • Developing models for market forecasting.
  • Characterization of strategies in agricultural systems.
  • Development of the modules (Agricultural Management, Production Forecasting and Precision Agriculture) that will make up the intelligent agricultural decision support system.

Activities

The activities to be carried out are described as follows:

  • Activity 1: Defining the technical and functional requirements and carrying out technological benchmarking.
  • Activity 2: Definition and implementation of the support infrastructure.
  • Activity 3: Artificial intelligence algorithms for agricultural management.
  • Activity 4: Interfaces, integration and testing.
  • Activity 5: Demonstration and validation.
  • Activity 6: Dissemination, communication and business plan.
  • Activity 7: Project management

  • Solid benchmarking associated with the technologies applied in precision agriculture.
  • Artificial intelligence algorithms for forecasting and aiding agricultural management.
  • Development of an intuitive and functional platform.
  • Solid business plan to exploit the results obtained in the project.
